You are part of an exclusive group of parents and guardians of Banneker Achievers, among the District's brightest and most accomplished high school students! The Benjamin Banneker Class of 2022 was awarded more than $79 million dollars in scholarship money for college. Achieving a 100% high school graduation and college acceptance rate is not an accident. We need everyone’s help to give our children every opportunity for success.
Parent Teacher Organization
This is where the PTO comes in. We promote open communication and understanding between parents and staff and provide unconditional support for student success. Every year, our PTO helps to oversee the needs and development of the school. We help raise much needed funds to support class trips, extracurricular activities, the Banneker science fair, the annual Winter Ball, and books and classroom supplies.
Becoming active in the PTO is really easy– and it really makes a difference! We are an independent organization and we do not belong to any state or national affiliation, or support any political platforms. All PTO funds are used to enrich the experience of Banneker Achievers. The PTO dues are used to help fund projects and programs that add to the quality of your child’s education and to help teachers and parents communicate and work together. Join the PTO today, so together we can fill the gap between what DCPS can fund and the programs and materials we’d like “OUR” kids to have.
